Here is a video of us playing Oil & Lacquer sideways
I can’t believe it’s February already. It’s absolute madness. We’ve done lots so far this year and we are having a ball doing it! To keep you abreast of all our news we’ve set up a mailing list which you can sign up over there→
If you sign up soon you get a free download of our song I Scare Easily!
Some lovely soul took a phone video of us playing “Give Me My Teeth” at our Club Fandango show. In the interest of me making it really easy for you guys to find everything about us, here it is:
This week saw our debut south of the border (the one between Scotland and England) when we played a double header in London.
On Sunday night we played Communion at Notting Hill Arts Club and it was brilliant.

Photos etc should follow shortly.
On Monday we played to a full house at Club Fandango.

LOL JKZ – this is a sound check photo, I promise it was actually rammed when we played and even better – people liked us! We met so many genuinely lovely people over the two nights that we were actually sad to see the back of the smoggy capital. Londoners get a bad rap but it turns out theyre great, at least in the posh bits.
First and foremost thanks to all the folk who featured us on their best of 2010/ones to watch for 2011 lists. I know I’ve missed a few but some of our faves were Vic Galloway, Favourite Son, Sound Surrounds, Mad Mackerel and of course the marvellous POP COP. It’s great to be recognised by people we’ve admired for years as well as some new and hip bloggers. We REALLY appreciate it.
I’d also like to personally big up The Islay Blog who have featured both of our singles. I’m mad proud to be mentioned on there!
So to sum up, we’re feeling a bit gushy and overwhelmed about all the nice things people have been saying about us and fingers crossed we continue to do the right things in 2011.
We were lucky enough to play at Detour on Wednesday night and it was awesome. Detour consists of a couple of guys who are full to the brim with awesome ideas and they make a cracking job of keeping Scottish music interesting. If you haven’t heard of them you should check out their website for more info.
Anyways they hold monthly night at Bar Bloc in Glasgow which is always rammed with lovely people and it was a complete pleasure to play for them. Here is a video that one of said lovely people took:
You know The Pop Cop? Yeah, that’s right, the best blog for new music in Scotland (probably the UK but let’s not get too excitable). Well the lovely folk over there have just named our first single Oil & Lacquer as one of the best of 2010.
What a lovely and humbling surprise. Have a read for yourself here to see us featured alongside esteemed colleagues such as Mumford & Sons, The National and the mighty Jonsi!
Why not celebrate this great news by buying Oil & Lacquer or indeed our new single Diving Bell? If you can’t afford to buy anything get in touch and we’ll probably give you something for free.
WOWEE! Last night was so much fun. So many lovely, happy people came to our single launch and made it such a special evening. There was lots of clapping, foot stamping and mass singing and it was glorious.
The venue was decorated by Suzie Wyllie from Kid Heart Studios and she also helped us out with designing all our handmade CD singles. I was sad to see them SELL OUT all in the one night as I’d grown quite attached to them but I’m certain they all went to good homes. Here is how some of it looked

MORE TO COME SOON!
